For the past year I have been immersed in a restoration project on my 108-year-old home. The people involved in my project exhibit a delightful grace. When a mistake is made, I get a visit and a bottle of nice wine or perhaps a spicy—peppery scotch. If a project goes awry and people decide to skip lunch, a trip for pizza is in order. Gifts and apologies. Something novel after these last few years. Defensiveness, anger, ego, fiercely defending our point of view. Sometimes we like to skip the apology part because it’s easier not to, but after we do it, there is this intake of breath rushing in—surging through our body, the release and then calm again. My newfound friends could begin a new health trend!

Our main feature this month “The Grace of Giving and Receiving – Healing Through Generosity,” by Carrie Jackson details how giving of time, treasure, and talent fulfils our souls purpose and heals the body. Stories and interviews with who have taken their life tragedies and challenges, turned them around and are paying it forward in whole health in many ways—through creation of nonprofit organizations that help others in similar situations or provide philanthropic donations and/or donating their time and/or talents to help others.
