Gardening and Gut Health! !
As we transcend the events of the last several months, it seems to me that many people will be contemplating their options for tending vegetable gardens at home or even sharing one with a friend or neighbor. Perhaps we are now looking at canning, freezing and putting more fresh foods by, which would also serve to improve our gut health and thus reap dual benefit!
Walking down the main streets we notice many of the restaurants now have outdoor seating to supplement the reduced size of their dining rooms, which gives things a more neighborly feel and the side benefit is that it’s a delight to see people out and about again!
Although we sorely missed the gyms and our yoga studios, many of us have stepped up our outdoor activities spending more time with family hiking and picnicking in the parks and cycling on the bike paths. I love seeing families outside spending their time together with outdoor activities!
And, it’s been healing to receive calls, texts and notes from friends and neighbors who live down the street and across the country. This kind of keeping in touch and checking in is always a source of comfort, but even more so when our lives are turned upside down and inside out.
I am delighted that we are returning to our new normal, but I certainly hope we continue some of these re-discovered trends toward living in a more conscious way!
To conscious living,
